About the Course
Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, was designed by Jack Nicklaus in his hometown as a tribute to Muirfield in Scotland, where Nicklaus won the 1966 Open Championship. The course is famously immaculate, with stadium-style mounding for spectators.
History
Construction began in 1972, and the course opened in 1974. The Memorial Tournament debuted in 1976. Nicklaus himself has tweaked the course several times to keep it fresh for elite competition.
